Certification Program Terms

Effective

In short: to become Stretchtogo Certified you must pass the online final exam (80%) and a live practical evaluation, by video call or in person. The certificate shows you completed our training. It is not a state license and does not by itself allow you to practice massage therapy or any other licensed profession. You may use the "Stretchtogo Certified" name as described here, and we can withdraw that permission if it is misused.

1. About these terms

These Certification Program Terms apply to every Stretchtogo certification course (currently Mat Online, Table Online and Mat In Person 1:1), the final exam, the practical evaluation, and any certificate we issue (together, the "Program"). They are part of the Terms of Service between you and Stretchtogo LLC ("Stretchtogo", "we" or "us"). By enrolling, you agree to them. Refunds are covered by our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

2. Who the Program is for

The Program is designed for adults (18+) who are yoga teachers, fitness instructors, bodyworkers or others with a background in movement. You are responsible for deciding whether the Program is suitable for you and for any prerequisite knowledge, insurance or qualifications you need in your own area. You should be in suitable physical condition to practice the techniques taught and should consult a physician if you are unsure.

When you practice techniques on another person as part of your studies (including for your evaluation), you are responsible for that person's informed consent and safety, and for making sure they are an adult who has agreed to take part, including on a live video call where applicable.

3. Certification requirements

To earn a certificate you must, within your access period:

  1. Complete the course lessons for your track;
  2. Pass the online final exam with a score of at least 80%; and
  3. Pass a live practical evaluation, performing the full routine live for a certified Stretchtogo professional, either in person or over a live video call we arrange with you. Recorded video submissions are not accepted for any course. The evaluation is conducted by a certified Stretchtogo professional.

The evaluator will assess your technique, safety, communication with your practice partner and adherence to the taught routine. The evaluator may pass your evaluation or ask you to make changes and take the evaluation again. Evaluation decisions are made in our reasonable professional judgment. If you believe a decision is wrong, you may ask for a second review within 14 days of the decision. A different evaluator will reconsider it where one is available, which may include a further live evaluation; that decision is final.

Your evaluation must be performed live by you. Using a stand-in, misrepresenting your identity, or getting unauthorized help on the exam is cheating.

4. Retakes and access

Exam retakes. If you do not pass the final exam, you may retake it up to the number of attempts shown in your course (currently up to 9 attempts in total). Questions may be drawn at random and differ between attempts.

Evaluation retakes. If your evaluation needs changes, you may book another live evaluation during your access period. We may limit retakes to a reasonable number, and we will tell you if a limit applies.

Access expiry. Course access lasts for the period shown on the Course page (currently 12 weeks from enrollment). When access ends, you can no longer view lessons, sit the exam or take the evaluation, and you will need to purchase an extension (if offered) or re-enroll to complete the Program. Certificates you have already earned are not affected by access expiry.

5. What the certificate means, and what it does not mean

A Stretchtogo certificate confirms that, on the date shown, you completed the Stretchtogo curriculum for the stated track and passed our exam and practical evaluation. It is a private, non-governmental credential issued by Stretchtogo.

A Stretchtogo certificate is NOT:

  • a license, registration or certification issued by any state, federal or foreign government or licensing board;
  • a massage therapy license (in Florida, massage therapy is regulated under Chapter 480, Florida Statutes, and requires a license from the Florida Board of Massage Therapy), nor does it satisfy any educational requirement for one;
  • a license or qualification to practice physical therapy, chiropractic, athletic training, occupational therapy, medicine, nursing, dietetics or any other regulated health profession;
  • an academic degree or academic credit, unless a specific institution tells you otherwise; or
  • a guarantee of your competence in any particular case.

You are solely responsible for determining whether the services you intend to offer require a license, registration, permit or insurance where you work (which may differ from state to state and country to country), and for obtaining them and complying with all applicable laws, including laws on the scope of practice of regulated professions. You must describe your services accurately and must not present assisted stretching as massage, medical treatment or therapy unless you are separately licensed to provide it.

6. Using the "Stretchtogo Certified" name

6.1 Limited permission. While your certificate is valid, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to state that you are "Stretchtogo Certified" (or "Stretchtogo Certified — [track name]") and to display the certificate we issued to you, in order to accurately describe your qualification on your website, social media, résumé and marketing. The permission is personal to you and does not extend to any business, studio or other person.

6.2 Brand rules. When you use the name, you must:

  • use it only to describe yourself as an individual, accurately, with the correct track;
  • spell it correctly ("Stretchtogo"), and not alter it, combine it with other marks, or use it in your business name, domain name, social-media handle, app name or paid search keywords;
  • not use the Stretchtogo logo or other brand artwork unless we give you written approval and artwork, and then only as we specify;
  • follow any brand guidelines we provide to certified professionals, as updated from time to time; and
  • stop using the name immediately if your certificate is revoked or suspended.

6.3 No endorsement or employment. Certification does not make you an employee, contractor, agent, franchisee, licensee or partner of Stretchtogo. You must not state or imply that Stretchtogo employs you, refers clients to you, endorses or supervises your services, or is responsible for them, unless we have a separate written agreement with you. You are solely responsible for your own services, clients, insurance, taxes and business.

6.4 Ownership. "Stretchtogo", "Stretchtogo Certified", our logos and all goodwill in them belong to us. Your use benefits us, and you will not challenge our rights in them.

7. Professional conduct

Certified professionals and learners must:

  • practice within the scope of their training and within the law, and refer clients to a qualified health-care provider when appropriate;
  • obtain clients' informed consent before touching them, respect a client's request to stop, and keep all sessions strictly professional and non-sexual;
  • never harass, exploit or discriminate against clients, fellow learners, evaluators or our staff;
  • keep client information confidential;
  • not make medical claims or promise results; and
  • comply with our Terms of Service and community rules.

8. Public verification

Each certificate has a unique number and a verification link. Anyone can use it to confirm the holder's name, the track, the issue date and the certificate's status (valid, or revoked). You agree to this information being displayed publicly for as long as the certificate exists. See our Privacy Policy.

9. Revocation and suspension

9.1 Grounds. We may suspend or revoke a certificate (and any permission to use the "Stretchtogo Certified" name) if we reasonably determine that:

  • the certificate was obtained by cheating, impersonation, plagiarism, fraud or misrepresentation, including using a stand-in for your evaluation;
  • the holder has engaged in serious professional misconduct, including sexual misconduct, harassment, abuse, or conduct that endangers clients;
  • the holder has been found by a court or regulator to have practiced a regulated profession without a required license, or has been convicted of a crime directly related to the safe practice of hands-on services;
  • the holder has misused the Stretchtogo name or marks, or represented the certificate as a government license; or
  • the holder has materially breached the Terms or these Certification Program Terms, or the course fee was charged back or refunded.

9.2 Process. Except where immediate action is needed to protect safety or where the facts are clear (for example, a chargeback), we will tell you in writing of the concern and give you at least 14 days to respond before making a final decision. We may suspend a certificate during our review. Our decision will be made reasonably and in good faith and, subject to the dispute-resolution terms in our Terms of Service, is final.

9.3 Effect. When a certificate is revoked, the verification page will show that it is no longer valid, and you must immediately stop using the certificate and the "Stretchtogo Certified" name, and remove them from your materials. No refund is given on revocation.

10. No guarantee of employment or income

We do not guarantee that you will pass the exam or evaluation, that you will find work or clients, or that you will earn any particular income, or any income at all. Any income figures on our websites are illustrative examples only; please read our Earnings Disclaimer.

11. Changes to the Program

We may update the curriculum, exam, evaluation criteria and these terms from time to time. Changes will not require you to redo requirements you have already completed during your current access period, and will not affect a certificate you have already earned, except under Section 9.
